Engage among publishers to ride content marketing wave

PUBLISHERS are leading the charge for the Association for Data-Driven Marketing and Advertising (ADMA) to set up a content marketing group.

The move comes as brands increasingly look at ways to tell their own stories online, potentially bypassing traditional media.

A number of publishers including Bauer Custom Media, Pacific + Custom, Mahlab Media and Engage Custom Content, which are ADMA members, are understood to be considering joining the group, which aims to help educate marketers about best-practice content marketing.

The initiative comes as some publishers are engaging in so-called “native advertising”, whereby they create content specifically to meet the business objectives of particular advertisers.
